I had no clue about the hell that I was bringing on myself
BY ZAC
I have been at Salem Ranch for one year. Before I came to Salem I was a drop-out, a quitter, a liar, a manipulator, a deceiver, and a thief. I was selfish, lazy, ungrateful, angry, and in denial about it all.
I had no clue about the hell that I was bringing on myself. I had broken every rule that my parents put in place because they did not make me happy. That is all I cared about, making me happy.
Every morning my parents though I was going to work, but really I left to do whatever I wanted. I lived every day only for myself.
Then one terrible day I came to Salem. I thought, “This stinks!” Little did I know that I was going to meet my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Some of the best people I will ever meet showed me the sin and death that I was living in.
I had burned relationships with family and friends that would only be fixed through a new relationship with Jesus. My time at Salem has helped me to rebuild those relationships. I could not have done that on my own.
Now, through God’s grace and the help of this great place, there is a new list of words to describe me: I am respectful, loving, trustworthy, grateful, joyful, giving, God-fearing, saved, and—as of December 1—graduated!
