Salem held me accountable for my actions
BY JORDAN
I was 17 years old, and my life was heading to a dead-end. My junior year in high school consisted of ditching school and smoking pot with my friends. This was my entire life, and I did not care about anything else. My parents knew it, my friends knew it, but no one knew what to do.
On June 2, 2004, two Salem staff showed up at my door with my Dad to rudely awaken me and take me to Salem. I had no intentions of going to Salem, so I jumped out of the second story bathroom window. I ended up at Salem anyway.
I was angry to be here at first. I denied that I needed any help. Eventually I understood that I my choices were destroying me and my family. At Salem I was confronted with my behavior and my habits. Salem removed me from my environment, my friends, and my negative habits, and held me accountable for my actions.
I caught up with the classes at school which I had flunked or did not complete. I grew close to God through prayer and Bible study. I can definitely say that I have found healing at Salem Ranch and that it was a good choice by my parents. I am very happy to say that after six and a half months, I am going home.
Jordan has now gone home and is making a successful transition as a godly young man.
