I had a plan for myself

It’s so amazing how God has chosen me, an evil, wicked, pot smoking, spit in my mom’s face, hate the world, don’t give a rip, cuss out my parents kind of kid. As the sinner that I am God has drawn me to share His glory. I am Anthony, a graduate of Salem. Praise God for what He has done with me, changing my desires, life, goals; my everything! Here at Salem, God has shown me that He is my everything.
I had a plan for myself when I came to Salem, but I’m very grateful that His plan was fulfilled instead. I started to sense God softening my heart. He was revealing His plan for me when I began paying attention everyday in chapels and devotions. He drew me to Himself using what He has provided Salem.
Salem is a true gift from our Lord. He has used staff, clients, His Word, and people like you to draw sinners to Him. In a weekly class on Pilgrims Progress, we read a passage and studied the supporting Scripture. I didn’t think people were so wicked, and I attempted to prove the teacher wrong. I failed miserably. Through believers’ examples and hearing Scripture, God brought me to submit to His Lordship.
God has used Salem to prove that He is my everything. I pray that He continues to soften our hearts to the Truth. Though I denied Him, He chose to bear my sin and redeem me before I was created that He might bring me to Him.
