Salem’s message of hope for parents
Perhaps nothing can compare to the hurt and pain you are currently experiencing as you watch your son slipping further away from all you had hoped for him. Panic, despair, hopelessness, fear and anger are all emotions you may have felt over the course of weeks, months, or years as you have tried your best to parent your son. But his wayward behavior has left you completely empty. Maybe you can relate to the following, an example of the types of family situations we hear every day:
‘My son is really a good kid, but he is making poor choices and I am concerned for his future. I am so afraid he is going to throw his life away. We need someone to help us. We need to know there is hope. We love our son. What can we do?
Maybe he is defiant, does not respect authority, or just wants to play video games. Perhaps he is using drugs, or is failing at school. Other issues we frequently hear from parents are that their sons are hyperactive, depressed, compulsive, unmotivated, selfish, lazy, and only concerned about life in the moment.
Your son knows these things about himself. He knows he is damaging the relationships with those who care about him the most. His problem is that he is using these attitudes and behaviors as a mask to cover what is going on in his heart. He is likely insecure, afraid, confused, and lonely.
The answer to his heart problems is found in Jesus Christ. Jesus said, "Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me.” (John 14:1).
Our desire is to minister to your son in such a way that he understands hope and healing is found in a relationship with Jesus Christ, and that he uses this truth as a springboard to change the course of his life from one of destruction to one of restoration.
Look through our website, watch our video, and contact us to see how we may be able to help your family rebuild the broken relationships in way that brings glory to God.
